International Collaboration

Collaboration is at the very heart of IEA Geothermal activity.

The ethos of sharing information enables faster uptake of geothermal energy globally, the possibility for more rapid technology development, reduced duplication of effort and in so doing, collegiality is fostered amongst the collaborators.

The connections and cross over are invaluable to the Geothermal TCP and to the organisations / groups that we speak into.

Members of the Geothermal TCP are well connected into a range of international organisations who are fostering geothermal energy activity across the temperature range from ambient, low to superhot geothermal:

  • Other IEA TCP’s,

  • International Geothermal Association (IGA),

  • National Geothermal Associations,

  • Geothermica

  • the International Partnership for Geothermal Technologies (IPGT),

  • the EU Geothermal Implementation Working Group (IWG),

  • the European Technology & Innovation Platform on Geothermal ( ETIP-Geothermal),

  • the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC-Platform),

  • the Geothermal Panel of the RHC-Platform

  • the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC),

  • The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) Joint Geothermal Programme.
